About Lisa

Lisa Kuryla is a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist with over 30 years of experience, the last 20 of which she has spent at Saint Charles East High School in Saint Charles, Illinois. With a passion for helping teenagers navigate the complexities of communication, Lisa works with students on everything from articulation and fluency to language processing and social communication skills.
When she's not in her speech room working magic with high schoolers, you can find her cheering on the Chicago Bears and Cubs, following Nebraska Cornhusker basketball, or planning the next travel adventure with her husband, Joe. She's also a proud mom of three: Nathan, Lauren, and Matthew.
Lisa believes every student has something important to say — sometimes they just need a little help figuring out how to say it. Her approach combines evidence-based therapy with a healthy dose of humor, because let's be honest, high schoolers aren't going to engage with boring.

Proud Mom
Lisa is a proud mom of three: Nathan (24), an accountant in Omaha; Lauren (22), who works in the same school district; and Matthew (20), a marketing student at the University of Nebraska.
Bears & Huskers Fan
Lisa is an avid Chicago Bears fan on Sundays and closely follows Nebraska Cornhusker basketball. Game day is serious business in the Kuryla household.
Cubs Superfan
Die-hard Cubs fan through and through. Lisa bleeds Cubbie blue and has the gear to prove it.
Travel Enthusiast
Lisa loves exploring new places with her husband, Joe. Whether it's a weekend getaway or a big trip, they're always planning the next adventure.

Lisa always has at least three books going at once. Her "to read" pile is less of a pile and more of a small library.

Coaching students on the unwritten rules of conversation, reading social cues, and building meaningful connections with peers.
